Want to Keep Your Man? Stop Pushing
One of the reasons men tend to break up with women is their feeling of the lack of freedom. When we, men, feel that we are trapped in a relationship that restricts our movements we tend to be defensive. And one of the steps that we take to defend our freedom is to end the cause of this restriction.
We are also patient creatures. We don't jump to a break up unless our freedom have been compromised for a long time in a way that we don't like.
An example is a wife who keeps pushing for a dining out despite the fact that her husband has to work 60 hours or more every week to make up for her unemployment. She is annoying him with her selfish request. The man could be tired of that many hours of work and needs to stay home and enjoy the dinner with his wife, thinking about the time they will take in dressing up and driving to and from the restaurant. For her it's normal to dine out, for him it's exhausting after that many hours of work, in addition to the more stress this will put on their budget.
I'll take it to the other extreme with another wife example who keeps offering her husband to make him coffee, a sandwich, or anything over 10 times in less than a minute repeating the same offer again and again while her husband is trying to focus on whatever he is reading or trying to listen to. She is also pushing him over the edge but not accepting "no thanks" as an answer. It's really kind of her to offer, but do you think a man would say no to food or a drink unless he really doesn't want it? And when he yells or even shows some facial expression of discomfort she builds an argument on it and it ends up with a verbal fight.
Those two men are not happy with their wives for very stupid reasons. Stupid enough that they could be easily fixed if the first wife took her husband's "no I can't" as an answer, and if the second wife understood the first "no thanks" without having to hear it over and over.
And some women wonder why their men break up with them!
