How to Save Your Relationship Or Marriage With Communication

If one or both partners in a relationship lack effective communication skills, odds are that relationship is at risk for failure. The number one reason most marriages fail is not due to an affair, or finances. It is due to the lack of communication.

Talking is a lost art that most marriages never had. So how do you improve communication within our relationship? Ask questions for starters. Obviously that will not work for a lot of couples simply because some spouses/partners refuse to open up. Where do you start?

Literally, there are thousands, upon thousands of books and articles written on this topic alone. All should lead you to the starting point of asking questions. Communication is a very powerful word. Most people fear it, few understand how to do it. But if you have it, you have the ability to influence radical change in all areas of your life. Simply being in love is not nearly enough, without proper communication.

Is it time to go file for a divorce or break up? No. Quite frankly it's an easy fix. You just need to start slowly, listen and don't be judgmental. Care enough to show your partner that you care what they are talking about.

It's probably a safe bet that most of us would have asked a lot more questions in the beginning if we had the chance to do it all over again? But it is not too late, so now make the effort and do it. Take 5 minutes out of the day and talk about things you never talk about. It shouldn't be like pulling teeth, make it fun. Play twenty questions once a week, or maybe even a round or two of truth or dare. Ask the tough questions you always wanted to know, ask the fun ones that can lead to some exciting interaction. But be prepared, because those personal questions you are asking, could very well be asked of you in the next breath by your partner. Life is fun, now is not the time to turn your back on it and settle. Move forward and start communicating.

So what questions should you ask? How about, has your spouse ever been fired? Abused? Course you can say no they haven't...but have you ever asked, or are just assuming the answer? There are thousands of questions to ask and if you don't know them check out the internet.
