They have an apprentice - It is very hard to cover a lie especially when the person is a chronological lier. Sometimes, they get people to play a part in their game. It maybe a friend but most often than not it will be their family who will help them lie. Blood is thicker than water, so the saying goes.

They destroy the paper trail - They may throw away bank statements or burn a letter coming from their special someone. Like crimes committed, they do not want to be caught. It will be easier for them to destroy the evidence than defend themselves when they are shown lots of it. Some of the things they would do is to clean the house more often or they change the bed linens after just using the new ones one day. Cleaning does not always mean they are being neat, they might just be destroying evidence you can use against them.

Their phone is always turned off - When they are with you their phone is always turned off. They do not want calls coming in from their secret lover when you are around. With text messaging a fad nowadays, they also do not want you to read their messages while they are away. If their phone is not turned off, they may have placed a password to unlock it, so you cannot read their read messages.

Changes in the car - When their car is unusually clean or they take it to be cleaned inside and out more often then they maybe cleaning up any evidence that someone else was in the car. You may think that they are just being meticulous about cleanliness but you may find that they are just covering up something else.
